Johnson Kitchen Remodel

For this project, we are remodeling the kitchen for the Johnson family. To begin, let’s take a look at who they are and the overall vision for the space.

Michele and Dan Johnson are busy professionals who both work full-time jobs. They have two high school-aged children, Maxx and Madison, who are active in sports and frequently away during the week for practices and games. The family values quality time together and enjoys activities like camping, hiking, watching movies, and spending weekends with loved ones.

The Johnsons are ready to update their kitchen to better suit their current lifestyle. While their old kitchen served them well when their kids were younger, their needs have evolved. Now, they’re seeking a space that not only supports their day-to-day routine but also reflects their interest in smart technology. They’re particularly excited about incorporating smart appliances and creating a more functional, modern environment.

After getting to know the Johnsons and researching the preferences and characteristics of Gen X homeowners, I’ve developed a clear design direction. The new kitchen will feature a sleek, modern aesthetic with a spacious island and state-of-the-art smart appliances. Below are two images that capture the inspiration behind this design approach.
